Abstract: Clad metal is a layered metallic composite used in different applications. As the layer number increases and the layers thickness decreases, a clad metal may provide special functions, which might be required by electronic packaging. This paper describes engineering and fabrication processes for multiple-submicron-layer clad metals. Examples are given to active brazing alloys, high strength electro/magnetic application material and thermal expansion control clad metal.
