Designers frequently have to combine two or more materials with different, yet complementary, engineering properties in order to meet the demand for a truly competitive, highly reliable end product. TMI's clad metal process and related technologies offer designers the flexibility to meet this challenge. The TMI Clad Metal Process The TMI cladding process "metallurgically" bonds metals together, producing a continuous strip that can be annealed, rolled, and slit to meet very precise electrical, thermal, and/or mechanical end-use needs. We can produce clad inlays or overlays on one or both base metal surfaces with precious or non-precious metal combinations. Up to eight selective stripes of precious metal or brazing alloy can be imbedded per side, minimizing precious metal resources, eliminating subassembly operations, and increasing design flexibility.
